about the artist
Bradford Leonard White born 18/11/1966 in Brisbane Australia, the son of Julie and Len White who had immigrated from England in the same year. They returned to England in 1968 and Brad grew up in London before embarking on some world travels before returning to Australia.
He spent time in the Northern Territory working as a buffalo musterer and crocodile catcher, He resided for a time in Alice Springs where he worked in the camel industry before setting off with his partner Lisa and 2 children, Sam and Camille in their camel drawn gypsy wagon, heading for NSW. Fate and flood waters interveened and their travels were cut short, and after 2 months, Brad had to put his camel travel dreams on hold.
They settled in Gunnedah, NSW where Brad tried his hand at shearing and other farm labours whilst also being the primary carer for their growing family which eventually numbered 5 children (and a burgeoning menagerie of chickens camels horses alpacas, sheep cats and dogs!) Being confined to the home, he turned his attention to his childhood love of drawingand began his artistic endeavour.
Brad is largely self taught. He has a free style. He has attended many short courses and immerses himself in all things art, visiting galleries and reading extensively. He is always positive about other artists and has recently held an exhibition with a fellow English artist who also lives in Gunnedah. This was held at the Creative Arts Centre in Gunnedah and was titled A Mix of Marks. It was well received.
Brad continues to develop his style.
